Applicants will be required to submit relevant documents for employment, business and study permits. The Zimbabwe Community In South Africa welcomed the decision, but they want the government to consider undocumented citizens as well. “We want to extend our gratitude to the Minister and the South African government for allowing us to remain in South Africa for the next 4 years. We would have wished that the Minister would have considered the many undocumented Zimbabweans who are working in South Africa. We hope the Minister will at some point attend to this request,” the organistion said in a statement. Johannesburg – Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba has released the facts of the new Zimbabwean Special Dispensation Permit (ZSP). Detailing the specifics of the ZSP in a media briefing in Pretoria, the Minister said this noted the start of a brand-new cycle, as the Dispensation for Zimbabwe Project (DZP) will officially be closed on 31 December 2014. Beneath the DZP, Zimbabwean nationals, who have been within the country illegally, were granted an opportunity to legalize their stay. The special dispensation was presented in 2009 to manage the stay of Zimbabweans working illegally in South Africa because of this of the political and socio-economic situation in their country. Johannesburg – Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba has released the facts of the new Zimbabwean Special Dispensation Permit (ZSP). About 295 000 Zimbabweans requested the permit. Just over 245 000 permits were issued, with the balance being denied because of not enough passports or non-achievement of other requirements. Since then, the Department of Home Affairs developed a proposal with regard to the fresh ZSP, and it was recognized by Case on 6 August 2014. In the briefing on Tuesday, Minister Gigaba said Zimbabwean nationals, who are in control of the DZP permits, qualify to apply for your new ZSP. However, that is only when they wish to extend their remain in South Africa. The Minister said certain conditions, at the same time, must be achieved. “These conditions include, but are not limited by: a good Zimbabwean passport; proof of work, organization or certified research and a clear criminal history,” said Minister Gigaba. The ZSP enables permit-members to call home, function, conduct business and study in South Africa for the period of the permit, that will be valid until 31 December 2017. Programs for ZSP permits, will start on 1 October 2014, and shut on 31 December 2014. Applications According to Minister Gigaba, applications may be managed by VFS Global, a worldwide outsourcing and technology solutions' consultant for diplomatic missions and governments. However, applications can be adjudicating from the Department of Home Affairs. VFS will open four new practices in the provinces where it's predicted that you will have large numbers of people. These are Gauteng, Western Cape, Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The brand-new offices may be in addition to the 11 offices currently opened, which may take care of ZSP applications. Minister Gigaba said ZSP permit-members, who wish to stay in South Africa after the expiry in their ZSP, must return to Zimbabwe to utilize for mainstream visas and permits under the Immigration Act. “We are appreciative of the many contributions made by Zimbabweans within our community and economy. Customary Inflow of ZSP Programs Praised The Collection Committee of Home Affairs recently welcomed the typical influx of applications for permits under the brand new Zimbabwean Special Permit (ZSP) of 2014. This new dispensation uses the imminent expiration of permits issued under the Dispensation for Zimbabwean Project (DZP) of 2009. The project was initially applied to help the certification of the large numbers of Zimbabwean nationals in South Africa. The permits were planned to expire at the conclusion of December 2014. Consequently, the Minister of Home Affairs announced on 12 August the newest system to continue the permits. Beneath the DZP approach, the department issued 242 731 permits and denied 51 780 applications. The new procedure will look after most of the 294 511 candidates who submitted applications underneath the previous process.
