per New Regulations from 2014
In South Africa Visa Applications will likely be received and handled by VFS Global from June 2014. The Department of Home Affairs, here called DHA, has made VFS Visa Processing SA Pty Ltd, referred to as VFS Global, to start visa facilitation centres all over the nation handle and to receive visa and permit applications in South Africa. VFS Global manages and will also create a call centre to help customers with related enquiries.
VFS Global collects requests from applicants all over the nation and will supply administrative functions regarding receiving the visa. The visa centers in South Africa will supply only practical services in conformity with all the checklist of conditions as instructed by the Department of Home Affairs.

Foreign nationals, including kids, have to appear in person at the VFS Global visa facilitation centre to submit biometric data and their applications. From June 2014, applications can no longer be handed in at the DHA’s regional offices.
